Laserable Metals

Metal Tags, Nameplates & Sheets

Coated aluminum, anodized aluminum, brass, and stainless steel for laser engravers. Permanent, durable identification for industrial, commercial, and outdoor applications.

How Laser Metal Marking Works

There are two main approaches to laser marking metals, depending on your laser type:

CO₂ Laser + Coated/Anodized Metal

The laser ablates (removes) the coating or anodize layer, exposing the contrasting metal underneath. Fast, clean, and high-contrast. Works on all coated aluminum and anodized aluminum products below.

Fiber Laser + Bare Metal

The fiber wavelength directly marks bare metals — stainless steel, brass, titanium, and bare aluminum. Creates a permanent, corrosion-resistant mark without coatings.

Laser Marking Compounds — Cermark & LaserDark

Cermark and LaserDark compounds let you mark bare metals with a standard CO₂ laser — no fiber laser required. Apply the compound to the surface, laser it, then wash off the residue. The result is a permanent, bonded black mark directly on stainless steel, brass, anodized aluminum, and more.

How it works: Apply compound → laser at reduced power → wipe clean → permanent black mark on bare metal. Works on Epilog Fusion, Fusion Edge, and all CO₂ laser systems.

LaserDark marking spray — for wood and plastics

LaserDark Marking Spray

For Wood, Leather & Light Substrates

Not a metal marking compound — LaserDark is applied to wood, leather, and other light substrates to create high-contrast dark marks. Great for wood signs, cutting boards, and light-coloured materials where natural laser contrast is low.
