What Is Laserable Leatherette?
Laserable leatherette is a synthetic material engineered to look and feel like genuine leather, with the key advantage of engraving cleanly under a CO₂ laser. The laser ablates the surface to create a contrasting engraved mark — typically a lighter beige or cream colour revealed through the top colour layer.
Unlike genuine leather, leatherette sheets are consistent in thickness, colour, and texture — making it easy to run production batches with predictable results. No tanning variation, no hidden grain direction, no surprises.

Epilog CO₂ Laser
Ideal — CO₂ wavelength engraves and cuts leatherette cleanly. Recommended for gift shops, makerspaces, and award shops.
Kern CO₂ Laser

Fiber Laser
Not recommended — fiber wavelength is designed for metals and does not engrave synthetic leather effectively.
