Other materials people ask about

Short answers here; the safety guide has the full table.

Acrylic

Cast acrylic engraves frosty white and cuts with a polished edge. Extruded cuts well but engraves clear. CO₂ only.

Glass

A CO₂ laser frosts the surface of glass and crystal. It etches; it doesn't cut.

Anodized Aluminum

A CO₂ laser bleaches the anodize to white with no compound needed. Fiber marks it too.

Stone & Slate

Photo engraving on black granite, slate and marble. Granite dust contains silica, so use HEPA extraction.
